Yi Liu

Dr. Liu received a bachelor's degree from the Department of Atmospheric Physics at Nanjing Meteorological Institute and a Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Atmospheric Physics with a research direction of "Physicochemical properties of atmospheric aerosols and their transport process".

In 2003, he was hired as a researcher/Professor in Institute of Atmospheric Physics- Chinese Academy of Sciences, obtained the qualification of doctoral tutor in 2004 and published more than 80 papers in journals such as Nature, JGR, RSE, ACP, etc.


He is currently the Director of the General Office of the Strategic Pilot Science and Technology Project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, "Carbon Budget Certification and Related Issues to Address Climate Change", the Chief Scientist of the project, an expert of the Near Space System Group of the Major Special Expert Committee on High-resolution Earth Observation Systems, China Deputy Chief Engineer of Aerospace Strategic Development Research Center of the Academy of Sciences, Deputy Director of the Satellite Meteorology Professional Committee of the Chinese Meteorological Society.


From 2011 to 2020, he presided over the strategic pilot science and technology projects of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the 863 key projects, and two major projects on high-resolution Earth observation systems. At present, he is presiding over the near space scientific observation system from the Strategic Pilot Science and Technology Project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the key technology research supporting the global carbon inventory satellite remote sensing of greenhouse gases from the National Key R&D Program.
